Amazing Grace

Spring is here everyone and we hope you will be enjoying it with a good book and a cocktail! This month we are trying campari again. Last March we used this aperitif in a cocktail called Bittersweet Endings. Full disclosure, we didn't like it in that cocktail. However, the most common drink that campari is used in is a Negroni, a cocktail that I have been hearing a lot about over the last year. After our main character enjoys this cocktail, I decided to give campari another try and do a version of a Negroni. A traditional Negroni uses gin, but Susan isn't a huge fan of gin so we swapped it for tequila.

Well, we can say that we did enjoy this cocktail better than Bittersweet Endings. I realized that I like sweet vermouth, something I wasn't excited to try because I'm not a fan of dry vermouth. Considering the Amazing Grace has no mix, we both thought that it was pretty smooth, especially once the ice started to melt into a bit. However, we still didn't like the campari! It leaves a very bitter after taste that took away from the rest of the drink. We gave it a try and it just wasn't a winner. If you like campari though (or a Negroni), you will probably really like this cocktail. Until next time have a drink, read a book and be happy!

Add ice to a rocks glass. Add the next 4 ingredients. Make an orange peel curl for garnish. Hopefully enjoy! Lol.
