This drink is in honor of all of the working women out there! This month's book is a thriller that looks into the lives of women and all of the challenges they face in the workplace. When trying to think of a drink, I asked some of my women co-workers what taste would say "powerful woman in the workforce" and the answer was...coffee! I also thought about what type of drink good old boys would sit around sipping during business deals. I combined the two to come up with a coffee based version of an old fashioned and called it the Good Old Girls Club.
Susan and I both liked the drink. I used Grand Marnier and Susan used Triple Sec. Mine had a lot of coffee flavor with a hint of orange while hers had a stronger orange flavor. She would probably use less Triple Sec next time. We both felt like the drink got better as we drank it. The cooling and melting of the ice made it smoother (or we were just feeling it more). Either way we would both make it again! We hope you enjoy and until next time have a drink, read a book and be happy!
