Happy New Year Cover to Cocktails fans! It's hard to believe but we just finished our third year and are looking forward to a magnificent fourth year, sharing wonderful books and cocktails with you. We are starting the year off right with a drink we're calling Peach Blossom Spring in honor of the title of this month's book by Melissa Fu. This cocktail is a blend of fun fruits mentioned in the book.

Obviously we needed some peach schnapps, but there is also some cherry liquor to represent the attempted (and failed) planting of cherry trees. We also added some orange juice to represent what I would consider a turning point in the book that hinged on oranges.

Susan and I both loved this cocktail. It was light, fruity and well balanced. You could taste all of the flavors without any one of them over powering the other. Susan also added a bit of maraschino cherry juice to hers that she stated was very good. With the tasty flavors and ease to make it, we are sure this is a cocktail we will enjoy again and again. We hope you enjoy it as much as us. Until next time have a drink, read a book and be happy!
