The Best Books of 2024

Wow, we had some great books this year! When we compared favourites this year, we only had one that was the same! And as we talked, we both remembered how much we liked the books on the other's list.

Jen's favourite book of the year was Get Well Soon, which I fully expected after her rave reviews earlier this year. She loved it so much that she still recommends it to friends! Her second favourite was Me Vs Brain. She surprised herself by having this one in the top three, but really loved how much she could relate to the stories in the book. She even suggested her husband read it so he could understand how her mind works sometimes! Jen's third favourite book this year was The Last Devil to Die. We just cannot get enough of this series!

My favourite book of the year was Peach Blossom Spring. As I was going through our list of books and comparing my ratings, I realized how much I had enjoyed this historical fiction. The characters and the story were compelling and it was nice to learn about the history of another country. My second favourite book of the year was Remarkably Bright Creatures. I really enjoyed the story and the characters, especially Marcellus. My third favourite book this year was The Last Devil to Die. I just love the characters and this series!

We didn't discuss our least favourite book, but for me, it was America, The Beautiful? because it just didn't meet the expectations I had when I chose it.
